Danone wilde iets introduceren waardoor ze meer invloed kregen op de beïnvloeders binnen de markt van gezondheidsvoedingen. Hierom zijn ze de online probiotics hub gestart.
Het concept
Het concept is vergelijkbaar met So-Net in Japan. Het is namelijk een Hub voor de professionals waar professionals met elkaar in verbinding staan. Tevens is er een feed aanwezig met het laatste nieuws omtrent gezondheid en voeding. Het enige verschil is echter het verdienmodel en dat de hub niet toegankelijk is voor de reguliere consument.
Gebruikers
De gebruikers van de hub zijn bedrijven, farmaceuten, zusters, diëtisten en andere specialisten. Middels de Hub hebben zij toegang tot up-to-date informatie en de laatste onderzoeken met de voordelen van probiotics. De Hub word mede mogelijk gemaakt door Activia en Actimel, de twee belangrijkste merken van Danone.
Verdienmodel
Het verdienmodel is niet gericht op abonnementen of advertisements langs de content van de website zelf, in tegenstelling tot So-Net. De doelstelling van de website is duidelijk: beter in contact komen met de belangrijkste beïnvloeders en hen laten weten waar Danone voor staat. De resultaten spreken voor zich. Sinds de lancering in Oktober 2010 kreeg de website veel bezoekers en is nog steeds stijgende. Zo begon de site met maar liefst 1,300 bezoeker in de eerste maand. Ook de content schijnt in trek te zijn bij de gebruikers. In de eerste maand zouden maar liefst meer dan honderd stukken literatuur gedownload zijn.
Branchmark
De reden waarom de hub een goede branchmark is, omdat het onder andere laat zien hoe So-Net vertaald kan worden naar de eigen industrie. Hoewel ze niet veel verschillen is de doelgroep duidelijk anders en de doelstellingen ook. Hoe zorg jij ervoor dat je grip krijgt op je belangrijkste beïnvloeders en hoe zorg je ervoor dat je hen meerwaarde geeft?

| Wat nog leuker zou zijn is de “managers” hoofdelijk aansprakelijk te stellen Als het goed gaat mogen ze best wat extra verdienen, als het mis gaat mogen ze gewoon gaan bij lappen wat ze zelf verpest hebben.
